I personally would like to thank everyone for participating in the WSAD 19th
annual wallyball tournament just concluded last Saturday and it was a
success and full loads of fun!!! We all wished that all of you were here!
There were 23 participants (plus some scores of fans) for the two
competition events and here's the results:
Open Triples:
1st place-Deutschalnders: Michael Glennon and Blake Probert
2nd place-Whoo Care: Aleris Fraats, Michael Gordon, Gustavo Diaz
3rd place-Cory Davis, Brian Lievens, Patrick Hennessy
Co-ed:
1st place-Kookies: Aleris Fraats, Mark Wisniewski, Juan Balacarel, T. K.
Hill
2nd place-Wildcats: Steve Davis, Mark Lucas, Cory Davis, Rebecca Davis
I want to thank the following volunteers who helped me out with the
operations of the tournament: Wyndette Carmony and Linda (no last name, my
apologies)! Without you all, the tournament couldn't be done with smooth
finish without complications!
Thank you, WSAD, for sponsoring the event and we'll do it again next year
for 20th year! It will be very special tournament next year and we hope we
can plan for a memorable tournament that started back in 1989 by Steve
Turscany!
For your information, the recreational open wallyball outings will resume on
Friday, April 4th at Schaumburg Tennis Plus and continue thru early May on
Friday evenings.
Think Spring!

Hey Wallyball Players & Fans,
Are you sitting around, stuck inside by STILL wintry weather outside
(where's spring?) We have an option for you!
The option is.....Wallyball is the sport to play inside and stay warm
and burn off those extra calories you stuffed in from Easter holidays!
What's wallyball??? It's a hybrid of volleyball and racquetball
played on a racquetball court with volleyball net in the middle and play
with volleyball sized ball with color and texture similar to racquetball
and bounce the ball off the walls like racquetball but dig, set, spike
the ball like volleyball. It's the hybrid craze right now (I'm not
talking about the cars!)
Everyone is welcome to play, from beginner to competitive. This all-deaf
event is a good place to exercise your body, meet new & old friends, and
hearing people are welcome to play with us. After the game, we may
gather at Chicago Uno's Pizzeria or TGIF for pizza, drinks, and chat.
If you have any questions, please email me, thanks!
